Vijay Vilas Palace
A majestic 1940s royal palace west of Mandvi Beach, set in 450 acres with 2 km of private beach.
About Vijay Vilas Palace
The majestic Vijay Vilas Palace lies a few miles west of the famed Mandvi Beach. Surrounded by pristine greenery amid the calls of peacocks and other birds, its very first sight is grand enough to leave you spellbound. Built for His Highness Maharao Vijay Singhji, who ruled Kutch in the 1940s, the palace is an eclectic blend of styles: umbrella-domes like those of Bengal, Mughal-style cupolas, Rajput jarokhas and cusp-arches, Victorian Gothic arches and classical columns. It is nestled in 450 acres of lush greenery with 2 kilometres of private beach and its own eco-friendly sanctuary, home to blue bulls, jackals and the occasional chinkara.
